The Provenance of our Vision
The Kaleidostoop is where analog wonder meets digital dreams - a cosmic collision of classical optics and contemporary tools that invites citizens of Black Rock City to explore infinite geometric dimensions through the eyes of an intergalactic wanderer. Our Star Sailor brings gifts of mesmerizing portals, but their true mission is to remind us that the most profound connections happen right here on Earth, on a simple stoop under an infinite sky. This project has lived in our dreams for years, evolving from late-night conversations on our camp's own humble stoop into this vision of a gathering place where digital fractals dance with desert sunlight. With your support, we can manifest this bridge between worlds that celebrates both timeless geometry and radical community.

Our philosophical underpinnings
I have always been inspired by the interface between analog and digital as we have watched Burning Man grow as a community across the years. As fire and drum circles began to give way to lasers and drones, the Burning Man experience has always been a reflection of technological advance in our world and an exploration of this movement. Kaleidoscopes are analog, evocative of a childhood experience of wonder. Now, with digital art, the experience of the kaleidoscope can be renewed and technologically driven, suggesting a movement into a future or outer space. I've also always loved the dichotomy of the personal and the social at burning man - we connect with others and also need time to ourselves. The kaleidostoop explores the dichotomies of analog and digital, personal and social, inward and outward, terrestrial and space, past and future. The theme tomorrow, today matches well into our exploration of these interfaces. We hope participants can explore these mysteries through the piece.
